Vatican City and St. Peter's Basilica tours

The Vatican City tour starts with the guided tour of the Vatican Museums, that hold some of the greatest art anywhere. We admire all these masterpieces thanks to Renaissance popes who collected most of what we can see today. 

We will visit Pius-Clementine Museum, Chiaramonti Museum and then the Octagonal Courtyard, which contains many masterpieces from Canova and Michelangelo. We will focus on some Greek and Roman statues such as “Apollo Belvedere”, “Laocoon”, “Belvedere Torso”.

Our tour will continue with the Upper Gallery: the Gallery of the Candelabra, the Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of Maps.

And finally, the great Sistine Chapel who contains Michelangelo’s ceiling and his huge Last Judgment. This is the place where new popes are elected and also personal chapel of the Pope.  We will discover together stories about this terrific Holy place.

Our tour has not finished yet. 

Stairs will take us through the Atrium. We will admire Saint Peter’s Square, with its ring of columns, which symbolizes the arms of the church welcoming everyone. Inside the church we will admire everything, including the Michelangelo’s Pietà and the baldacchino designed by Bernini, a pavilion-like structure 28.74 metres tall and claimed to be the largest piece of bronze in the world.
